Tachufind has been designed and built with the use of Times New Roman
as the font of choice because it is one of the most versatile fonts available
for working with many different languages, and it was created with the idea
of maximizing its capability in that regard. The downside of all this design
for capability and speed with regard to that is that changing fonts to any
fonts that are not built around the same standard as Times New Roman can lead
to some unusual results when you start using special characters.
If you plan on using it strictly for English, you may not find any issues
at all when you change fonts, but be forewarned that results can vary when
the font is changed from the default font.
If you change the font you will see a warning about this, if you change
fonts often, you can remove this warning by going to options format > Options.
Ideally, you probably want to research whatever font you want to change to
if you are planning on using it, and it is not a common, standard MicroSoft
font. So, generally speaking, in a nutshell, you can likely get away with
using another font, but depending on the make-up of the
font you choose, and the results could vary.
Because you do get a warning if you start to change a font, once you are aware of
these issues, you may want to opt out of any further warnings. To do so, go to
Format > Options and click on opt out of all future font change warnings.
